This is a single malt from Bruichladdich, part of the distillery's Islay Barley series. The 2012 release is distilled from barley grown in 2011 on eight farms across western and central Islay.
The series is built around terroir, the idea that soil, climate, micro-climate, orientation and local weather shape the quality and flavour of the spirit and make it an expression of a particular place.
