Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is a single malt Scotch whisky made with barley grown on seven different Islay farms. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in first-fill American oak whiskey casks and in a combination of Ribera del Duero, Syrah and Pauillac wine casks.
The nose has melted butter, sea shores, nectarine and a little floral sweetness. The palate brings honeyed cereal, almond, nutmeg, peach and an earthy vanilla pod note. A late hint of citrus oil develops on the finish.
