Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is a new edition of the distillery's Islay Barley single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 50%. It is made with barley grown on Islay by seven different farms.
Maturation took place in first-fill American oak whisky casks together with wine casks from Ribera del Duero, Syrah and Pauillac.
The nose offers melted butter, sea air, nectarine and a hint of floral sweetness. On the palate come honeyed cereal, almond, nutmeg, peach and the earthiness of vanilla pods, followed by a late hint of citrus oil in the finish.
