Octomore 07.2 is a five-year-old single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled in 2014 at 58.5% in a 70cl bottle. It carries a peat level of 208 PPM.
The whisky was matured in American oak and Rhône Syrah wine casks.
The nose combines pepper, shortcake and smouldering hardwood with a touch of citrus and a hint of peach. The palate is oily and rich, with hot peat fire, overripe fruit, a little jam and burnt toffee. The finish brings mesquite, charred oak and barbecued pork, with peat smoke lingering.
