Octomore 14.2 is a five-year-old single malt from Bruichladdich, made from 100% Scottish-grown Concerto barley of the 2016 harvest. It was distilled in 2017 at 128.9ppm and matured in first-fill oloroso sherry hogsheads, together with first-fill and second-fill Amarone casks.
On the nose there are prunes, red currants and malted barley wrapped in leather. The palate shows European oak, a touch of dryness, wood spices, smoked oak and roasted coffee. The finish brings smoked malt, smouldering oak and sea salt, with an earthy smoke running through it.
