Octomore 14.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 57.7% in a 70cl bottle. The Octomore series is known for very high phenol levels, and this release is given as 128.9ppm. Each release is a limited bottling with its own number.
The whisky spent four years in casks that held Oloroso (40%), first-fill Amarone (16%) and second-fill Amarone (44%), followed by one year in Pauillac wine casks.
On the palate it recalls toasted oak, roasted coffee beans, dried fruit, peat smoke and glowing charcoal.
