Bruichladdich – Octomore 15.1 (59.1%)

Octomore 15.1 is a heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, the first release in the annual Octomore series. It was distilled from 100% Scottish barley and peated to 108.2 ppm. The whisky matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and re-charred bourbon barrels. It was bottled at 59.1% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. In the tasting notes, the nose offers caramel, custard and sweet malt. The palate brings mango, banana and apricot jam alongside custard and toffee. The finish carries peat smoke, vanilla and sweet charred oak, with a fresh maritime note.
