Bruichladdich Octomore 15.1 is a heavily peated single malt, made from 100% Scottish barley and peated to 108.2 PPM. It was matured in a combination of bourbon casks and re-charred ex-bourbon casks.
Soft vanilla custard and sweet charred oak sit against heady peat smoke.
The nose offers caramel, bright citrus, aniseed, vanilla, tropical fruit, geranium and ginger over dry, earthy peat. The palate opens with heat, then mango, banana and apricot jam. A drop of water brings out maritime notes and warm sand. The finish carries peat smoke, vanilla and charred oak with a fresh, maritime crispness.
