Octomore 16.2 is a cask strength Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, five years old and bottled at 58.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured.
It is made from Scottish Concerto barley peated to 101.4 PPM. The whisky is matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then finished in Madeira and Moscatel casks.
The nose is described as caramelised sugar, roasted hazelnut, figs, ripe berries and gentle smoke. The palate brings dark fruits, nut brittle, treacle and toffee, with integrated peat and subtle tannin. The finish is warm and lasting, with smoke, dried fruit sweetness, spice and a lingering nuttiness.
