Octomore 16.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, the second release in the 16 series. The smoke measures over 100 ppm.
It was matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry and selected wine casks. It is bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration and without added colouring.
The nose brings peat smoke, raisins, dark berries, vanilla, sherry spice and a sea breeze. The palate is full and layered, with campfire smoke, sweet malt, red wine notes, spice, chocolate and a citrus freshness. The finish is very long, smoky and spicy, with dark fruit and oak spice.
