This is Octomore 16.3, a cask strength Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 61.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and natural in colour.
It is made from 100% Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm (Church Field) and peated to 189.5 PPM, the most heavily peated whisky in Series 16. It was matured for five years in bourbon, Sauternes and Pedro Ximenez casks.
The nose is floral, with heather, barley sugar, green apple and citrus over soft smoke. The palate has honeyed malt, toasted grain and orchard fruit with delicate smoke and salinity. The finish carries sweet barley, bonfire smoke and a hint of minerality.
