Bruichladdich – Octomore 17.2 5 Year Old (70cl)

Bruichladdich Octomore 17.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich Distillery on Loch Indaal, in a 70cl bottle. It is heavily peated, at 81ppm. The whisky is matured in a combination of European oak and wine casks, and bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered and without added colour. The nose combines smouldering peat ash, dried sea kelp and charred oak with dark berries, poached plums and cinnamon. The palate brings earthy smoke, dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, with red wine tannins, dried fruit and citrus zest. The finish is long and warming, with coastal smoke, sweet oak spice and dark fruit.
