Bruichladdich – Octomore 17.2 (70cl, 59.5%)

Octomore 17.2 is an annual release from Bruichladdich, a distillery in the Hebrides, bottled at 59.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled from 100% Scottish Concerto barley grown on the mainland. Instead of bourbon barrels, it spent its maturation in French oak casks that had previously held Californian red wine, then bourbon, then Octomore. It was then finished in first-fill port casks. The release is described as a bold exploration of smoke, time and strength.
