Octomore 16.1 is a peated single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 59.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley, malted to 101.4 PPM, and was aged for 5 years in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The peat smoke is intense, yet it comes with a surprising delicacy.
Salted caramel, honeyed melon and apricot lead on the nose and palate into chocolate and coconut, with a soft wave of earthy minerality and lingering smoke.
