Bruichladdich Old Skool is a 10 year old Islay single malt, released as a special edition for the distillery's 25th anniversary. It is bottled at 50% ABV and made entirely from Islay-grown barley.
The release pays tribute to the farming partners who grow barley for Bruichladdich on the island. The label carries a map of Islay and the names of all those farmers.
The nose brings apricot, nectarine and red plum with vanilla cream, barley sugar and a light sea breeze. The palate is balanced, with stewed pear, ripe apple, coconut, clove and ginger. The finish is apricot jam and toasted coconut, with a little grapefruit and lemon peel.
