Port Charlotte PMC:01 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2013 and bottled at nine years old at cask strength. It is the sixth release in the distillery's Cask Exploration Series. The barley is Scottish Concerto, peated to 40 PPM. The spirit spent four years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then five more in ex-Pomerol red wine casks from Bordeaux's Right Bank, a first for Port Charlotte. The nose brings peat smoke and leather with black cherries, plums and wild blueberries. On the palate, peat smoke and malt sugar meet blackberry, plum jam and clove, and the finish is long, with dry wood smoke and crushed sea shells.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
