The Classic Laddie is a Bruichladdich single malt made by Jim McEwan, bottled at 50% ABV. The whisky matured in American oak casks beside Lochindaal and was chosen to represent the distillery's classic unpeated style. It is made with 100% Scottish barley.
It won a double gold medal at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is elegantly sweet, with honeyed barley, boiled sweets, orange blossom leaves and a breath of sea air. The palate has red apples and white grapes, with hints of sweet cinnamon and brown sugar, and a soft coastal edge. The finish is mineral malt with toffee and more honey.
