Bruichladdich – The Classic Laddie Unpeated (70cl, 50%)

The Classic Laddie is an unpeated single malt Scotch whisky from Bruichladdich on Islay, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery treats it as a distilling philosophy rather than a fixed recipe. The provenance and variety of the barley, together with a growing range of casks, shape the spirit, and each batch is slightly different. The colour is that of sunlight on early summer barley. The nose has barley sugar, mint and freshly cut flowers, with caramelised fruit, honey and lemon drops coming through when water is added. The palate is refreshing, with sweet oak, brown sugar, ripe green fruit and sweet malt.
