Bulleit Straight Rye is an American straight rye whiskey bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. It is made at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and aged in new charred American oak. The high rye content gives it a spicy, assertive character.
The nose has rye spice, cracked black pepper, dried fruit and peppermint, with vanilla and baking spice beneath. The palate is bold and grain-driven, with caramel and honey easing the pepper. The finish is crisp and clean, with warm spice, oak and a faint trace of mint.
