Bunnahabhain – 10 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Range (70cl, 43%)

This is a 10 year old Bunnahabhain from Islay, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Unusually for the distillery, it is heavily peated. It belongs to the Discovery Range, which is colour-coded by flavour profile. The grey packaging of this bottle marks it as Smoky. The nose combines vanilla, toffee and light fruitcake with peat smoke. On the palate come hints of sea salt, lemon, sweet candied lime and liquorice, and the finish recalls a smouldering bonfire.
