Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 46.3% abv. It was matured in a combination of sherry, bourbon and refill whisky casks, chosen to balance the nutty and sherried character of the distillery. Bunnahabhain stands on the north-east coast of Islay and was founded in 1881.
The nose is fresh, with sea salt, mandarins and a little smoke. The oily palate brings vanilla, sultanas, malt, a touch of sherry, hazelnuts and wood smoke. The finish lingers, with salt and drying smoke.
