This is a 12-year-old Bunnahabhain from Islay, an unpeated malt bottled by Thompson Bros. at 46.1% ABV.
The last five years of its twelve were spent in first-fill Madeira barriques. It is bottled without added colour.
The nose brings ripe red berries and walnuts with a clear maritime note. On the palate, walnut oil and juicy red fruit are lifted by a light salty edge. The finish is nutty, with a touch of salt and a dry note.
