This Bunnahabhain was bottled in honour of the Fèis Ile whisky festival on Islay. It is a 14 year old Islay single malt at a cask strength of 58.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, and a limited release. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
The whisky spent 11 years in bourbon casks, followed by a 3 year finish in Ruby Port hogsheads.
The nose is complex, with dark chocolate, toasted oak, cherries, pepper and a red wine stew. The palate has an oily texture and a spicy opening of cinnamon and nutmeg, then red berries, cherries and oak. The finish is long and peppery, with cocoa and coffee.
