This is a 21 year old Bunnahabhain distilled in 1997, from the Mission Gold series by Murray McDavid. Only 290 bottles were filled.
The whisky matured in a single bourbon hogshead and was then finished in a Pomerol wine hogshead.
The nose is zesty and fruity, with a touch of coffee and salted strawberries. The palate is full-bodied, with wine notes of raisins, dark chocolate and spicy chutney. The finish brings roasted nuts, figs and a hint of rosemary.
