Bunnahabhain – 2012 10 Year Old North Star Spirits Cask Series 023 (70cl, 58.2%)

A single cask Bunnahabhain from Islay, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023 at ten years old by North Star Spirits for their Cask Series 023. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 58.2% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration. The whisky was drawn from a single ex-bourbon barrel, which gave 227 bottles. The nose is peaty, with icing sugar, barbecue sauce and grass. On the palate there are more barbecue flavours and a hemp-like note, and the finish is moreish, with sweet smoke lingering.
