This is a 23 year old Bunnahabhain, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2014 by Wilson & Morgan at a cask strength of 47.7%. It was finished in sherry wood, and 621 bottles were filled.
The nose is gentle and floral, with ripe pears and apples and no obvious sherry influence. The palate is firm and mineral, with candied orange peel and aniseed, and gentle honey and chamomile tannins. The finish brings pepper late on, settling on the tongue into a warm, tingling close.
