Bunnahabhain – 40 Year Old (70cl, 41.9%)

This is a 40-year-old unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled at 41.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release of 1000 bottles. The whisky comes from the Turney Casks, which were filled in the early 1970s by the Glasgow wine merchant J.G. Turney and rediscovered during a ledger review in 2012. The spirit had dipped just under 42% by then, so the casks were emptied straight away to hold its strength. Bottlings from them have followed in small batches since, and this presentation first appeared around 2018. It is described as full of exotic and citrus tropical fruit flavours.
