Bunnahabhain 7 Year Old 2018 Refill Sherry Hogshead #201225 – G&M Spirit of Scotland (70cl, 60.7%)

This is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, distilled in 2018 and bottled at seven years old. Stuart Urquhart chose the cask for Gordon & MacPhail's Spirit of Scotland series, and 259 bottles were filled. It matured in a single refill sherry hogshead and is bottled at 60.7% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with its colour untouched. The nose is soft vanilla and ripe raspberries with a light sea breeze and autumn spice. On the palate come creamy toffee, toasted oak and malt, with a touch of dark fruit compote. The finish brings black pepper and lingering dark cocoa.
