Bunnahabhain Fèis Ìle 2022 – Abhainn Araig

This is a Bunnahabhain bottled for the 2022 Fèis Ìle, the Islay festival. Abhainn Araig is named after a river that runs through the Islay landscape. The whisky was matured in Oloroso sherry casks and small batch Pedro Ximénez casks. It is bottled at natural colour and without chill-filtration. It comes in a white case with a heavy, dark bottle. The notes describe a full, dark style: old wood and raisins on the nose, then plums, chocolate and PX syrup. The finish is warm and woody, with hints of tobacco and dried fruit.
