The Bunnahabhain festival bottling for Fèis Ìle 2023, an official Islay release that changes from year to year. The whisky was matured in rarely used Canasta sherry casks and is bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.2% ABV.
It is a sweet, sherried Islay malt without the smoke.
The nose offers dark sherry, figs, chocolate, mocha and dried dates. The palate is velvety and deeply sweet, with black cherries, raisins, warm wood and light spice. The finish is long and warm, led by the sherry.
