Bunnahabhain – (Staoisha) 12 Years Old 2013 Infrequent Flyers

This is a peated 12 year old single malt from Bunnahabhain on the Isle of Islay, distilled in 2013. Staoisha is the name given to the distillery's peated spirit, set against its usual unpeated style. After maturation it was finished in a barrel made from chinquapin oak, a lesser-seen species of American oak, which adds sweet, spicy wood character to the coastal smoke. Alistair Walker bottled it for his Infrequent Flyers Collection at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
