Bunnahabhain – Staoisha 2013 11 Year Old North Star

This is an 11 year old Islay single malt, a Bunnahabhain Staoisha bottled by North Star Spirits as Cask Series #025. It was distilled in October 2013 and matured in a refill bourbon hogshead. It was bottled in February 2025, with an outturn of 260 bottles. The nose is hot chocolate with a fine hint of coffee. On the palate it is nutty and salty-sweet, much like salted pecan pie. The finish is warming, with tropical sweetness that fades slowly. Smoke runs through the whole dram.
