Burnside 1989 is a 28-year-old blended malt released for the 175th anniversary of Cadenhead's, the world's oldest independent bottler. It combines Balvenie and Glenfiddich spirit, matured in a bourbon barrel, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2017 at 47.3%. It is non-chill-filtered, and 132 bottles were filled.
The nose brings honey, beeswax, ripe apple, soft vanilla, light wood and a subtle spiciness. The palate is creamy and layered, malty sweet, with soft oak, dried fruits and toffee. The finish is long and warm, with lingering sweet and spicy notes.
