Bushmills Three Woods is a 12 year old Irish single malt, triple distilled from 100% malted barley and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The whiskey from selected Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels is married, then given a six-month finish in Marsala barriques from Sicily. The minimum of twelve years includes that finish.
The nose brings dried fruit and spice alongside sweet candied apple. The palate is creamy, with honey, spiced fruit, caramelised brown sugar and pronounced nutty malt. The finish is strong and slightly dry, with warming ginger and spiced pear.
