Cadenhead's Enigma Speyside 17 Year Old SPY.3.B (46%)

This is a 17 year old Speyside single malt from Wm Cadenhead's Enigma series, which is used for whiskies that are unusual or hard to categorise. The distillery's name is deliberately not disclosed. It was distilled in 2008, matured entirely in Oloroso sherry hogsheads and bottled in August 2026 at 46%. The outturn was 762 bottles. The code SPY.3.B marks it as the second Enigma bottling from this Speyside distillery. The nose is fruity and sweet, with hay, strawberries, blueberries, dried fruit and sultanas. On the palate come orange marmalade and acacia honey, then dark chocolate and Brazil nuts. The finish is long, salty and spiced, with chocolate, gingerbread and cinnamon.
