Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso DOC - Agricola Ayunta

A red wine from Agricola Ayunta with an elegant, mineral profile. The nose shows ripe red fruit, light floral notes and a hint of spice. The palate is slender but well supported, with vivid freshness and fine tannins; the volcanic character comes through as salinity and verticality rather than rusticity. Cherry, small red berries and a light herbaceous note mingle with a savoury retronasal impression. It suits important first courses, white meats, light roasts, mushroom dishes and medium-aged cheeses. Serve lightly chilled, around 16-18 C.
