Callington Mill Solera is a Tasmanian single malt made from 14 cask types gathered from around the world. They bring influences from Spain, Portugal, France, Australia, the Caribbean, the USA and Madeira, and include Tokay, Australian Port, Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Moscatel, Cognac and several bourbon casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines orange blossom and mandarin peel with marzipan, charred oak, vanilla almond and a mossy earthiness. On the palate, bitter orange and smoky oak char lead into a velvety, buttery texture with creamy vanilla and mandarin. The finish is sweet yet dry, with mandarin peel, oak and a touch of honeycomb.
