Caol Ila – 10 Year Old Artist Collective 2010 Refill Sherry Butt (70cl, 48%)

This is Caol Ila 10 Year Old, an Islay single malt bottled by Artist Collective at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky comes from a refill sherry butt, and the edition is labelled 2010. The interest lies in how peated malted barley meets sherry. The character runs from fruit, chocolate and malt through iodine, smoke and peat to spice and floral touches. Tasting notes describe a complex, peaty whisky with raisin, smoke, pepper and nuts.
