This is the 2024 Special Release from Caol Ila, an 11 year old Islay single malt bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle.
Caol Ila's tall stills produce a spirit known for elegance even when peated, and this edition uses cask influence to bring out fruit and brightness without overwhelming the smoke. It was matured on Islay's coast.
The nose has gentle coastal smoke, crisp pear, sea salt and bright citrus. On the palate come lemon zest, green apple, smoked malt, light brine and sweet vanilla. The finish is long and refreshing, with soft smoke, salt and citrus.
