This is an 11 year old Caol Ila from the 2024 Special Release, bottled at cask strength. It is an unpeated version of the Islay malt, matured in red wine casks.
The nose is soft and light, with nuts and spices, a hint of cheese and milk, and almost no peaty smoke. On the palate it is oily and rich, opening with a bold sweetness before fruit and nuts give way to pepper and oak spice.
The finish is medium, nutty and warmly spiced.
