Caol Ila 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It is a peated malt with a pale straw colour, a soft body and a balanced flavour that is fresh and sweetly fruity.
The nose is fresh and appetising, with muted lemon fruit, a hint of bath oil and dentist's mouthwash, and little or no smoke. A little water brings out almond oil and old-fashioned oilskins, then olive oil and, after a while, potpourri and scented hand soap.
