This is a 12 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, in a 70cl bottle at 43%. It has a clear, white-gold colour.
Salty sea aromas lead into the peaty smoke of the island, and an initial sweetness does not hide its Islay character.
The nose is restrained, with fruity citrus notes that are fresh and appetising, alongside clear smoke with a medicinal edge. On the palate the early sweetness gives way to peat smoke, with a pleasant mouthfeel. The finish is long, with traces of sea and smoke.
