Caol Ila – 15 Year Old 1st Fill Saint-Estephe Wine Cask (The Old Friends) (70cl, 57%)

This Caol Ila was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025 after 15 years in a first fill Saint-Estephe wine cask from Bordeaux. It is part of The Old Friends series, bottled at 57% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. The aromas are described as typically dirty Islay notes of peat, harbour brackish water and ash, meeting red berry compote, sweetened fruit tea and dark berries. Smoke and fruit are said to sit together in a long-lasting balance.
