This Caol Ila is an Islay single malt bottled by Wilson & Morgan. It was distilled in 2007 and matured for 15 years, including a finishing period in first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, before bottling in 2022. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
Leathery oak and tangy marmalade open the nose, with woody spice and smoked tea. The palate has waxy citrus, oaken spice, polished cedar, anise and clove, moving towards candied fruit and damp, smoky peat. The finish balances stewed apples and bittersweet peel with hearty smoke and charred earth.
