A 15 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, drawn from a sherry cask and bottled at a natural cask strength of 63% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was bottled in 1990 as an official bottling for the SMD staff association, under the name The Manager's Dram.
The tasting notes describe a meaty, smoky nose of smoked ham, peat, coal smoke and flint, followed by blackcurrant, coffee, toffee, fruitcake and mint. The palate pairs peat with sherry, along with chocolate, salt, liquorice and prunes, and the finish is very long.
