This Islay single malt from Caol Ila spent 18 years in a single refill hogshead, cask 307354. It was distilled on 23 August 2006 and bottled on 24 April 2025 by Elixir Distillers for its Single Malts of Scotland range, at 52.5% in a 70cl bottle.
The cask gave 271 bottles, and the whisky is neither coloured nor chill-filtered.
The nose combines sea air and soft peat smoke with vanilla, iodine, preserved lemon, seaweed and a touch of marzipan. The palate is round and oily, with caramel sweetness, peat, dry smoke, black pepper, charcoal and lemon peel. The long finish brings maritime saltiness, seaweed and ashy smoke, with pepper and a suggestion of scallops.
