This Caol Ila was distilled on Islay in 1967 and bottled in 1983 by R.W. Duthie & Co of Aberdeen for Corti Brothers of Sacramento. It is a single malt at 46%, in a 75cl bottle, and the bottling also names Narsai's Restaurant. The nose is old and briny, with old newspapers, gherkins in brine, an old wardrobe and shoe polish. The palate is lively and herbal, with absinthe, aniseed, oils, tart green fruit and limes, then smoked salmon and smoked haddock. The finish is long, with smoked fish and herbal liqueurs.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
