Caol Ila – 2009 9 Year Old Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask (70cl, 50%)

This is a peated Islay single malt from Caol Ila, distilled in September 2009 and aged for nine years in a single hogshead. It was bottled in May 2019 at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 269 bottles were released by Hunter Laing in its Old Malt Cask range. The nose brings ash, sea air and smoke. On the palate there is peat, sea salt and toffee, and the finish is long and salty with lingering peat.
