This is a Caol Ila single malt from Islay, distilled in 2009 and bottled at 59.2% ABV in a 35cl bottle. It was matured in a refill sherry butt, then finished in a re-charred Tempranillo cask.
The nose brings citrus, juicy orange, light chocolate and peat. On the palate are ashy smoke, salted lemons and restrained sweetness, building towards bitter chocolate, with hazelnut and a little coffee. The finish is long and warming, with oak, ash, lime juice and nut.
