This is an 11 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023 as a single cask for The Single Malts of Scotland, the range from Elixir Distillers. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV.
The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The cask reflects the smoky, east coast Islay style of the distillery.
The nose brings maritime smoke, ash, citrus, salt and fine herbs. On the palate it is smoky and fresh, with peat, lemon, mineral notes, an oily texture and a gentle sweetness. The finish is long and dry, with smoke, salt and a fine spiciness.
